Exit polls indicate victory for BJP in MP, Rajasthan; Know what is expected for Congress

Exit polls indicate a BJP victory in Madhya Pradesh and an advantage in Rajasthan. The Congress is expected to gain an edge in Telangana and Chhattisgarh.

Many exit polls on Thursday showed the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, but Congress in Telangana and Chhattisgarh.

India Today-Axis Today’s Chanakya, My India, and India TV-CNX forecast a large BJP win in Madhya Pradesh. Three exit polls in their upper maximum predicted a Congress triumph in Rajasthan, where most pollsters predicted a BJP win.

Pollsters predicted a hung House in Mizoram due to Zoram People’s Movement’s close contest with the ruling Mizo National Front.

Congress and BJP lagged in northeastern state.

Since 2010, the K Chandrashekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samithi has ruled Telangana, and the MNF governs Mizoram.

November 7–30 saw elections for the five states, with ballots counted on December 3.

India Today-Axis My India anticipated 140 to 162 seats for the BJP and 68-90 for the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, whereas Dainik Bhaskar predicted 95-115 and 105-120.

TV9 Bharatvarsh Polstrat predicted BJP 106-116 and Congress 111-121. Times Now-ETG gave the BJP 105-117 and Congress 109-125 seats.

Jist-TIF-NAI predicted 107-124 Congress seats to the BJP’s 102-119 in Madhya Pradesh, a 2018-like lead.

Rajasthan, India Today-Axis My India predicted a close contest with 86-106 Congress seats, 80-100 BJP seats, and 9-18 others.

Dainik Bhaskar predicted 98-105 BJP seats and 85-95 Congress seats, however Jan Ki Baat pollsters predicted 100-122 and 62-85 for the Congress.

TV9’s Bharatvarsh-Polstrat forecast BJP 100-110 and Congress 90-100. Times Now ETG poll forecast 108-128 BJP seats and 56-72 Congress seats in Rajasthan.

Today’s Chankaya predicted a 101-seat Congress majority over the BJP’s 89.

Republic TV-Matrize gave the BJP 115-130 seats and the Congress 65-75 in the 200-member House, whereas India TV-CNX awarded the Congress 94-104 and the BJP 80-90.

P-MARQ pollsters gave the BJP 105-125 seats and the Congress 69-91.

Jist-TIF-NAI forecasted 110 BJP seats and 70 Congress seats in Rajasthan, continuing the state’s revolving door trend.

ABP News-C Voter anticipated 41-53 Congress seats and 36-48 BJP seats in Chhattisgarh’s 90-member House, but India Today-Axis predicted 41-53 My India predicts 40-50 Congress seats and 36-46 BJP seats.

India TV-CNX predicts 46-56 Congress seats and 30-40 BJP seats.

Chanakya of News 24-Today predicted that the Congress would win 57 seats (plus-minus 8) and the BJP 33. The BJP would receive 34-45 and the Congress 42-53, per Jan Ki Baat.

Dainik Bhaskar forecast a Congress victory with 46-55 seats over the BJP’s 35-45.

In Telangana, India TV-CNX predicted 63-79 Congress seats, 31-47 BRS seats, 2-4 BJP seats, and 5-7 AIMIM seats, whereas Jan Ki Baat predicted 48-64 Congress seats, 40-55 BRS seats, 7-13 BJP seats, and 4-7 AIMIM seats.

Republic TV-Matrize forecast 58-68 Congress seats, 46-56 BRS seats, 4-9 BJP seats, and 5-7 AIMIM seats in Telangana. TV9 Bharatvarsh Polstrat predicted 49-59 Congress seats, 48-58 BRS seats, 5-10 BJP seats, and 6-8 AIMIM seats.

News 24-Today’s Chankaya gave the Congress 71 seats to 33 BRS and 7 BJP, a clear victory.

In Mizoram, India TV-CNX predicted 14-18 MNF seats, ZPM 12-16, Congress 8-10, and BJP 0-2 in the 40-member House, while ABP News-C Voter predicted 15-21, ZPM 12-18, and Congress 2-8.

Jan Ki Baat stated MNF would receive 10-14 seats, ZPM 15-25, Congress 5-9, and BJP 0-2.

Times Now-ETG gave the MNF 14-18 seats, the ZPM 10-14, the Congress 9-13, and the BJP 0-2 despite Republic Matrize’s 17-22, 7-12, 7-10, and 1-2 predictions.

Conclusion

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to win Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, while the Congress is expected to win Telangana and Chhattisgarh. Today’s Chanakya, India Today-Axis My India, and India TV-CNX anticipated a large BJP win in Madhya Pradesh, but most pollsters put the Congress ahead in Rajasthan.

The K Chandrashekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samithi has ruled Telangana for 10 years, and the Mizo National Front governs Mizoram. Votes were counted on December 3 after elections from November 7-30.

BJP received 140–162 seats in Madhya Pradesh, while Congress received 68–90. Rajasthan gave the Congress 86-106 seats, the BJP 80-100, and others 9-18.

Chhattisgarh’s 90-member House gave the Congress 41-53 seats and the BJP 36-48 seats, while India Today-Axis My India predicted 40-50 and 36-46 seats.

The Congress won 63-79 seats in Telangana, the BRS 31-47, the BJP 2-4, and the AIMIM 5-7. MNF gained 14-18 seats, ZPM 12-16, Congress 8-10, and BJP 0-2 in Mizoram’s 40-member House.

Pollsters also predicted a hung House in Mizoram, with the Zoram People’s Movement and Mizo National Front in close competition.
