Surya Varshan, a 21-year-old undergraduate student from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, founded Naked Nature, a cosmetic and skincare firm with a current sales of Rs 56 lakh and a valuation of Rs 10 crore. He started his firm with Rs 200 he saved from pocket money provided to him by his beloved parents while he was in his Class 12. Surya’s mother is from Thoothukudi, which is famous for its salt pans.In 2017, Surya enrolled in the BE Civil Engineering programme at Jeppiar Engineering College in Chennai. Every weekend, he would drive to Madurai to work on his company, creating things and visiting stores to sell them.
He received several insults when marketing his items in stores, but he did not give up and chose to contact physicians in Madurai. An ayurvedic doctor purchased one jar of bath salt for her elderly parents and requested six jars per week. Surya is a business owner from Madurai, India. His father urged him to attend Velammal Engineering College (located in Madurai), where he earned his BE Civil Engineering degree. When his father handed him a Royal Enfield Bullet, he was able to concentrate more on his business.
In 2019, he transferred from Vellammal College to Thiagarajar College to pursue a BSC in Biotechnology. He is presently an incubatee at Chennai’s CIIC (Crescent Innovation & Incubation Council), which valued his company at Rs 10 crore and offered him a Rs 30 lakh grant to assist him build it. Naked Nature now sells 47 goods ranging in price from Rs 150 to Rs 400, and the firm made Rs 56 lakh in revenue during fiscal year 2021-22. Surya attributes his success to his parents, who provided him with love and support during his challenging path as an entrepreneur.
