Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli’s wife, Andrea Hewitt, has opened up about her decision to withdraw a divorce filing due to her husband’s struggles with alcohol addiction. Andrea revealed that she chose to stay with Kambli after recognizing his vulnerable state, describing him as being “helpless.”

Andrea Hewitt, a model and Vinod Kambli’s second wife after his first marriage to Noella Lewis ended, spoke candidly during a podcast interview. Reflecting on her decision, Andrea said, “I once thought about it (separating). But I realized that he would be helpless if I leave him. He is like a child, and that hurts me. It makes me feel worried. I would not even leave a friend, but he is more than that. I remember there were moments when I would just walk away. But then I would be worried: Has he eaten or not? Is he on the bed properly? Is he okay? Then I had to check on him, and I would understand that he needed me.”

Vinod Kambli, who retired from cricket in 2009, has faced ongoing challenges with addiction and financial instability. He has reportedly undergone rehabilitation multiple times and was recently admitted to a hospital in Thane. Despite these struggles, Andrea continues to manage family responsibilities while supporting him through his health issues.

The couple’s love story began when Kambli fell for Andrea after seeing her on a billboard. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2006 and have two children: a son, Jesus Christiano Kambli, and a daughter, Johanna. However, Andrea acknowledged the difficulties of balancing her family life with the challenges posed by Kambli’s condition.

She is undoubtedly living a tough life.
