Archana Puran Singh has opened up about her long standing relationship with comedian Kapil Sharma, offering a rare glimpse into their personal dynamic. In a recent interview, the actress and television personality spoke candidly about how their bond has grown over the years, beginning with their early days on Comedy Circus, where Kapil appeared as one of the contestants.
Their professional relationship, Archana said, was founded on mutual respect. As a judge on the show, she was impressed by Kapil’s extraordinary talent from the very start. “It was Comedy Circus where Kapil was a contestant like the other ten, our association started then. Who knew that it would carry so far? It was an association built on mutual respect, I was his senior and a judge on the show. From my side, the respect for him grew because I saw amazing talent, whenever I see that, I bow down to it for being so pure and powerful. I made the same bond with Krushna, Kapil, and it has now evolved into a family relationship,” she shared.
Despite his lively on-screen persona, Archana noted that Kapil Sharma is quite private in real life. Describing him as “a very reserved person,” she said he rarely makes public appearances outside of work and prefers to keep his personal life away from the spotlight. “Kapil is now so comfortable with me… he is not comfortable with nine out of ten people, he is a very reserved person in his private life. He likes to keep things very private, you won’t see him doing a lot of publicity. You will just see him on shows; he doesn’t go to parties. When he comes to my house, he is very comfortable. He is very comfortable if I just drop in at his house, now our relationship has become very casual, it’s based on mutual admiration,” Archana explained.
She further highlighted how their connection has matured over time, rooted in a shared sense of humor despite coming from different backgrounds. “We both enjoy being around each other, we appreciate the same kind of humour. Though our upbringings have been completely different, we have connected and come together on a common platform of humour,” she added.
Archana Puran Singh most recently appeared as a special judge on The Great Indian Kapil Show, where her presence added to the show’s appeal. Season two of the series concluded earlier this year, but the bond between her and Kapil clearly extends far beyond the television screen.
