MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings lifted the IPL trophy for the fifth time after defeating Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans in the finals which was played on 29 May 2023 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad and the celebrations will surely go on for a long time as fans are also excited because Thala has ensured that he will be back as a player in the IPL 2024.
After CSK’s victory, the social media platforms were flooded with reactions and not just common public but many sportspersons other than cricketers also congratulated MS Dhoni and CSK for their victory. However, the tweet which got noticed by many was the one that was made by Indian woman wrestler Sakshi Malik as she not only congratulated MS Dhoni and his team but also took a jibe at the current government and system for whatever is happening with the wrestlers who are protesting against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the President of Wrestling Federation of India.
Sakshi Malik tweeted, “Congratulations MS Dhoni ji and CSK. We are happy that at least some sportspersons are getting respect and love they deserve. For us, the fight for justice is still on”.
Few women wrestlers have leveled the charges of sexual harassment against Brij Bhushan Singh and on Sunday, Delhi Police took a strong action against the wrestlers including Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phoghat, etc. These wrestlers were detained and later on were released by the police as they were walking towards the new Parliament for holding protests.
