As part of their ongoing demonstration against the Wrestling Association and the BJP Member of Parliament Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, wrestlers have now launched a new protest.

As part of their ongoing demonstration against the Wrestling Association and the BJP Member of Parliament Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, wrestlers have now established a new front in their protest. Wrestlers have made an announcement on the reason for their medal in the Ganges. Wrestler Bajrang Poonia has stated, via his Twitter profile, that we believe Ganga Maa to be holy and that medals have a spiritual place for us in relation to the Ganges.

According to a message that was posted on Bajrang Poonia’s Twitter account, all of you watched what took place on May 28. How did the law enforcement personnel handle us? We were protesting in a non-violent manner when we were taken into custody. A First Information Report (FIR) was filed against us, and the place where we were moving was taken away from us. The cops are acting toward us as though we are criminals. whilst the oppressor is continuing to strengthen their grip in public gatherings. Even the PASCO Act is being discussed openly at this point.
Discuss starvation to the point of death.

The wrestlers have expressed their belief that the medals that are currently adorning our necks do not have any significance. Medal is our whole existence. But because the Ganges is a mother, we are going to throw these medals into the river. The purity of our efforts, which led to the acquisition of these medals, is directly proportional to the degree to which we revere the Ganges. These medals are revered throughout the entire nation, and the Ganges mother is the only one who should ever be allowed to hold the holy medal in her possession.

Medals are our lives, our souls. When they finally join the Ganges, our lives will have lost all significance and become meaningless. Therefore, we shall continue our fast till we die and sit it out at India Gate. Our medal will be made in the Ganges here in Haridwar around six o’clock this evening.

A tense standoff between the cops and the wrestlers.

Beginning on April 23, the wrestlers who represented their country by waving the tricolor at international competitions sat on a dharna at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi. They were led by Bajang Poonia, Vinesh Phogat, and Sakshi Malik. Wrestlers have leveled allegations of sexual misconduct against Brij bhushan Sharan Singh, a member of the BJP who also serves as head of the wrestling association.

Then, at the direction of the Supreme Court, the police opened a formal investigation (FIR) against the member of parliament Brij Bhushan. However, when no action was done, the wrestlers declared that they would march on May 28 from Jantar Mantar to the recently constructed Parliament House. Following this, there was a significant amount of pushing and shoving between the cops and the wrestlers. Jantar Mantar was cleared out by the police after a commotion-filled incident there.
