Tamil cinema icon Ajith Kumar, fresh from receiving the prestigious Padma Bhushan, recently opened up about his perspective on life and the possibility of stepping away from films. In an interview with India Today, the star was remarkably candid, expressing a philosophy shaped by personal experience and a deep appreciation for life’s fragility.

Responding to a question about retirement, Ajith offered a response that was both sobering and reflective. “You never know! It’s not about me planning when to retire, I could be forced into retirement. I don’t want to take anything for granted. People complain about life. To wake up and feel alive itself is a blessing. I am not being philosophical here. I have been through surgeries and injuries. I have friends and family who are cancer survivors. We understand how valuable life is – just to be alive. I want to make use of every second of my life – want to make the most of it.”

Ajith’s words highlight a mindset grounded in gratitude and shaped by adversity. While fans may not want to consider a future without him on screen, the actor’s message is clear: life is unpredictable, and its true gift lies in being present for every fleeting moment.
