“I Don’t Have An Ego,” Mohammed Shami Says He Can Bowl At Any Stage

The Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami is an integral part of team India and in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, it was he who led the Indian pace attack along with Mohammed Siraj. However, the big question is that after the return of Jasprit Bumrah, which cricketer will open the bowling with him – Shami or Siraj?

Well, Mohammed Shami is not concerned about it at all as he stated in an interview, “Depends on whether I have the new ball or whether the team requires me at any stage during the match, I’m always on. I don’t have any hesitancy to bowl with the new ball or the old ball. I don’t have an ego like that. All three of us (Bumrah, Shami and Siraj) are bowling very well, so it depends on the management on who will play.”

A lot is being said about the problems that players face when they shift from red-ball cricket to white-ball cricket. Shami also shares his opinion on this matter, here is what he said, “There is only one goal, to go and give our 100%, the result will come running to us if we give our 100%. So it is very important to focus and execute, it’s a very simple plan. There is too much talk about the white ball or red ball, if you bowl in the right areas I don’t think that there is any difficulty in any ball.”

India will play its first match of the Asia Cup 2023 tomorrow against Pakistan at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy, Sri Lanka.
