IIT Bombay Alumni Association & FinIQ to host online summit, FinTech India Live

A conflation of the terms “finance” and “technology,” Fintech refers to any business that uses technology to enhance or automate financial services and processes. The term is a broad and rapidly growing industry serving both consumers and businesses. From mobile banking and insurance to cryptocurrency and investment apps, FinTech has broad applications. The goal of FinTech India Live is to bring together virtually over 1,000 eminent CxOs, decision makers, innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, venture capitalists, bureaucrats and policy makers from the FinTech, banking, financial services sectors on a full-featured virtual conferencing platform.

A little bit about IIT Bombay Alumni Association (IITBAA). IITBAA is a Section 8 Not-for-Profit company licensed under the Companies Act 2013 that creates and maintains a life-long connection between IIT Bombay and its alumni. Founded in 2001, IITBAA serves 55,000+ alumni spread across over 30 Chapters in India and over the world. In collaboration with an extremely dedicated volunteer Board of Directors, IITBAA works to connect alumni, support students, and build an unforgettable Institute experience through a diversity of events, programmes and services. This alumni organisation has a proven track record of hosting successful events with known leaders and innovators of national and international repute. The Global Business Forum (GBF) held in October, 2015 in Goa created unprecedented opportunities for the foremost technology innovators from the IIT Bombay community to engage with India’s top political decision makers as well as influential players in national and international businesses. The AU Bank Global IITBAA Summit 2019 held in Jaipur included panel discussions, interactions, and a start-up showcase, featuring some of the leading industry experts.

The FinTech India Live event promises to be yet another episode in IITBAA’s line up of successful events. However, this is the first time that the organisation is taking its event to a virtual platform in response to the ongoing pandemic. The event will bring together experts in the field from a variety of different locations and industries. Mr. Nandan Nilekani, Founding Chairman of UIDAI, and Co-Founder and Chairman of Infosys will deliver the keynote address “FinTech for a Billion People.” Other marquee names include Ashish Chauhan, MD & CEO, BSE; Viral Acharya, Ex- Deputy Governor, “RBI”; Kunal Shah, Founder, CRED, and Shailendra Singh, MD, Sequoia Capital (India), to name just a few.
