“It’s Been Easier For Me, I Do Have That Privilege,” Alia Bhatt On Nepotism

Nepotism in Bollywood has been one of the most debated topics and the burning issue was raised by actress Kangana Ranaut who called Karan Johar ‘the flagbearer of nepotism’ in the industry. Alia Bhatt is said to be a product of nepotism in the Hindi Cinema and thanks to her Godfather Karan Johar, she has got everything arranged on her platter.

In fact many celebs have also talked about Alia being a favourite of Karan including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who stated that she never got the push which Alia got from KJo along with everything literally on her lap.

Now Alia Bhatt has also spoken in this regard and her statement has reignited the nepotism debate. The “Gangubai Kathiawadi” actress accepts that she is privileged and she has got everything more easily than any other person. Alia recently interacted with Harper Bazar Arabia and here’s what she said,

“It has definitely come up a lot in conversation over the last couple of years. The long and short of it is that I empathise. I understand that it’s possibly been easier for me to get through the door than the next person.

And I compare my dreams to another person’s dreams; no dream is bigger, smaller, or more intense. Everybody’s dreams are the same, and everybody’s desires are the same. So I completely understand where that conversation comes from. The only thing I can say is that I acknowledge the fact that I have gotten that head start.”

She added, “I acknowledge the fact that I do have that privilege, which is why I give 100 percent every day and I never take my work for granted. The only thing I can do is keep my head down and keep working.”

Not just Alia but Karan Johar also gets trolled many times for showing his favouritism for Alia.
