The eagerly anticipated film Indian 2: Zero Tolerance starring Kamal Hassan has finally been given a fresh release date after multiple delays. The actor announced the news on social media, along with the first image from the film, which features a guy riding a horse in silhouette. He wrote, “#Indian2 Releasing Worldwide in Cinemas 12th July 2024! #1stSingleFromIndian,” as the photo’s caption. The sequel to the 1996 blockbuster Indian, which also starred Manisha Koirala, Urmila Matondkar, and Kasthuri Shankar, and in which he had a dual part, is called Indian 2: Zero Tolerance.
This popular movie, which was directed by S Shankar, was composed by A R Rahman. For those who came to the story later, Shankar is back directing the follow-up, which was shelved in 2020 after an accident on the set and the pandemic in 2019. Production began in 2019.
In addition to Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh have significant parts in the follow-up. Red Giant Movies, headed by Udhayanidhi Stalin, and Lyca Productions, headed by Subaskaran Allirajah, are producing it.
In addition, Hassan encouraged followers to vote in his most recent Instagram post. “Ek HINDUSTANI Ek AAWAAZ, Ek VOTE Make the change you wish to see! RESPONSIBLY VOTE,” he shared.
Clash with Sarfira, Akshay Kumar
Indian 2, starring Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan, will be in direct competition with Sarfira because its release date has been set. The movie is a remake of the 2020 critically acclaimed Tamil film Soorarai Pottru. The director of the original movie, Sudha Kongara, is set to helm the Hindi version as well.
Sarfira is based on the life of G R Gopinath, the man who founded Air Deccan and brought air travel within the reach of the average person. Paresh Rawal, a seasoned actor, will also feature prominently in the movie.
