In getting ready for his upcoming flick Chandu Champion, in which he plays a boxer, Kartik Aaryan is not wasting any effort. In the movie, Kartik plays boxer and soldier-turned-paraathlete Murlikant Petkar, the first Indian gold champion in the Paralympic Games. And now we’re learning more about his rigorous preparation for the part.
Kartik set out on an intense 14-month boxing journey to flawlessly tell this incredible story to the world. The actor’s incredible metamorphosis, which required intense boxing training over a 14-month period, is a testament to his devotion to his character as Chandu Champion. In addition to his rigorous middleweight training, Kartik followed a very strict diet, cutting out all sweets and losing a whopping 20 kg to get the look of a boxer. Kartik shared the ring with actual champions while fully immersing himself in the realm of professional boxing to increase the film’s realism.
There is a lot of excitement building for Chandu Champion because of its interesting idea, large-scale production, and gripping tale. This filmic gem not only marks the first time that Kartik and filmmaker Kabir Khan have worked together, but it also brings the actor and Sajid Nadiadwala back together after their success with Satyaprem Ki Katha.
Chandu Champion, which is co-produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan, is scheduled for release on June 14, 2024, globally.
