Investigators in Kodagu, Karnataka, have reported that three members of a Keralan family were discovered dead in their room at a private resort.
According to Kodagu SP K Ramarajan, the victims, Vinod (43) and Jabi (35) killed their 10-year-old daughter before hanging themselves from the resort room ceiling on Saturday. The victims, who were from Kollam in Kerala, claimed in a suicide note found at the scene that they were compelled to take drastic measures because of financial difficulties.
Following a call from the resort employees, local police showed up at the location. Their daughter was found dead on the bed, and they discovered Vinod and Jabi hanged inside their chamber.
“In the suicide note, the couple mentioned financial stress and a financial crime case that was registered at the Pathanamthitta police station in Kollam district,” K Ramarajan stated.
An investigation into the matter was undertaken.
A similar suicide instance was reported on Thursday in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh when four Andhra Pradesh family members were discovered hanging from a guest house’s ceiling. The victims stated in their suicide note that they were harassed by moneylenders and had to take drastic measures because of their financial problems.
