The 69th National Awards winners were announced yesterday and it is certainly a big moment for those who have won it as this is the most prestigious award of the Indian film industry.
The southern superstar Allu Arjun won the Best Actor Award for his movie, Pushpa: The Rise and the Best Actress Award has been won jointly by Kriti Sanon for Mimi and Alia Bhatt for Gangubai Kathiawadi. Vivek Agnihotri directed The Kashmir Files got the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration and actress Pallavi Joshi won the award for the Best Supporting actress.
There were many who weren’t happy with Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivii getting snubbed at the National Awards. Soon people started comparing the acting abilities of Alia and Kangana and an old video went viral. In this video, Alia’s father Mahesh Bhatt and actress Vidya Balan are seen sitting in a panel and the anchor asks Mahesh Bhatt about the nepotism debate, his daughter’s journey in Bollywood and what he has to say about it.
He started by saying, “There is no denying, Kangana was right in a way that the film industry is inward looking.” The statement which irked the online users was, “The climb for Alia, from Juhu to the Box Office was as difficult as Kangana.”
Here is the video:
Soon people started slamming Mahesh Bhatt for being delusional and some even called his whole family pathetic.
One user mocked the director by writing, “No, see, Alia didn’t have a posh driver to take her to the studio offices. Mahesh Dalle and Soni personally had to take her. It’s much difficult than flying in a plane from HP to Maharashtra.”
Another one mocked him by writing, “This makes so much sense. Especially since the plane ride from Shimla must have been very comfortable for Kangana.”
This user tells why Kangana going harsh at the Bhatt family or any other nepo kid is not wrong, “You see sometimes I don’t see nothing wrong with Kangana coming for these delusional people. In what world? Alia was handed a freaking career, she is average in every department. Kangana got there due to her talent. People that watched Gangster and realizing that was her first movie would be blown away. Kangana debut movie is better than most actresses best movie that is how good she is.”
What is your take on Mahesh Bhatt’s statement?
