On Monday (February 19), the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) clarified that Aadhaar number holders receive intimations to update the database, but no numbers have been cancelled in response to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s claims that SC-ST and minority cards were “deactivated” before the Lok Sabha elections.

Aadhaar, the most frequently used digital ID, is utilized to access subsidies, privileges, and services, according to UIDAI’s website. The body is upgrading papers and Aadhaar data to maintain database correctness.

Aadhaar holders receive database update notifications. UIDAI said no Aadhaar number was revoked.

UIDAI said Aadhaar holders can register grievances and be resolved.

“Aadhaar holders can complain to UIDAI at https://uidai.gov.in/en/contact-support/feedback.html. It promised to resolve complaints.
