The bus, which was traveling from Balasore to Kolkata and carrying a number of people, including some who were seriously hurt in the railway tragedy, crashed with a vehicle near Medinipur.
The force of the crash was so tremendous that the van was totally wrecked and the bus toppled. All of the bus’s occupants suffered injuries, some of them seriously. They were taken by ambulance to a neighboring hospital, where they are receiving care.
Both the bus driver and the van driver suffered injuries in the collision. They were also brought to a hospital for medical attention. The police have opened a file and are looking into the situation. The accident’s origin is still unknown.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), many fire units, and ambulances were also asked for assistance by the Army in the rescue operation.
Ambulances, support staff, and engineering and medical teams from the Army have been sent from the Eastern Command. To reach to the location of the event as soon as possible, the teams were routed from a number of bases.
