A 14-year-old boy from Assam has created a shoe for the visually impaired. When the sensor in the shoe finds an obstruction on the path, the shoe emits a buzzer. This alerts the person wearing it.
Ankurit Karmakar, a youngster from Assam’s Karimganj region, has created a sensor-enabled smart shoe for the blind. There is a sensor in the shoe. The shoe emits a buzzer when the sensor detects an obstruction on the path. The person wearing the shoe is alerted by the loud sound of the buzzer.
According to Anukrit Karmakar, “if there is a barrier in the path, the shoe’s sensor will identify it and the buzzer will sound a warning. When the buzzer sounds, the visually impaired person may hear it and become attentive, allowing him to escape the obstruction “
The adolescent, who dreams to be a scientist, hopes to develop additional technologies that will benefit people and make their lives simpler in the future.
Ankurit Karmakar says he developed this smart shoe for those who are blind. When he grows up, he wants to be a scientist.
He said, “I intend to carry out more such work that will benefit people and make their lives simpler.”
