Renowned singer Mika Singh has openly criticized YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and comedian Samay Raina over the ongoing controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent. The show has faced severe backlash after airing inappropriate remarks, particularly a crude question posed by Ranveer in its latest episode.
Expressing his anger on Instagram, Mika didn’t hold back in condemning the show’s content, labeling it as “wahiyaat” (disgusting). He was particularly shocked by the explicit language used by participants, including Apoorva Mukhija, and questioned how such profanity was being normalized in the name of humor. While acknowledging that some people found the episode entertaining, he was appalled by the excessive use of expletives and the audience’s reaction.
In his video statement, Mika made it clear that his criticism wasn’t directed at the show’s hosts alone but also at celebrities who willingly participate as judges. He expressed his disappointment over how well-paid public figures simply sit through such content without objecting.
The singer also took a dig at what he perceived as double standards by authorities. He pointed out how singers like Diljit Dosanjh and himself are often targeted for minor lyrical references to alcohol, yet digital platforms continue to allow explicit content to flourish without consequence. Mika questioned the lack of action against such controversial shows, saying, “When Diljit or I sing about alcohol, we get slapped with notices immediately. Tum log ko yeh gadhe log nazar nahi aate? Tumhara farz nahi banta? Celebrities aur singers ko fat se notice bhej dete ho toh aap in gadho ko rok nahi sakte? (But these clowns go unnoticed? Isn’t it your duty to stop them?)”
Ending his rant, Mika Singh called for stricter censorship on digital platforms and urged young audiences to refrain from using abusive language, emphasizing that entertainment should not come at the cost of basic decency.
