Mitchell Marsh Has A Very Rude Reaction To His Viral Pic With WC Trophy

The Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh found himself in the center of controversy when a photo of him in which he is seen posing with his legs on the World Cup Trophy went viral. Many Indian online users slammed him for showing disrespect to the trophy which the Aussies won by defeating team India in the finals of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 that was played on 19 November.

Recently, the 32 years old cricketer opened up in this regard and he made it clear that there was no disrespect from his side and he will probably do it again if he gets a chance.

He said, “Yeah probably, to be honest. There was obviously no disrespect meant in that photo at all. I haven’t given it too much thought, I haven’t seen a lot on social media even though everyone tells me it’s gone off. There’s nothing in that.”

Some Aussie players had to stay back in India after the WC2023 because both the nations are playing a 5-match T20I series and Mitchell Marsh is not happy with it as he feels that it is outrageous that the players had to stay back instead of going home and celebrating the big win with their family and friends.

He said, “Yeah it was pretty outrageous for the guys that had to stay behind. It’s a fine line because we’ve got to respect the fact we’re playing for Australia and it’s a series against India which is always really big. But there’s also the human side of it, the boys have just won a World Cup and probably deserve to celebrate for a while and get home to their families. It’s an interesting one. You’d hope there’s not too many of those series put on after big tournaments again.”

Undoubtedly, a T20I series just after a big tournament like the WC doesn’t hold any importance.
