The late Rishi Kapoor’s cult classic Karz was recently screened at The Red Lorry Film Festival, where his wife, Neetu Kapoor, graced the event. The screening also brought together the film’s team, including director Subhash Ghai and actresses Simi Garewal and Tina Munim (now Tina Ambani), marking a nostalgic reunion.
In a heartfelt tribute to her late husband, Neetu Kapoor shared a cherished memory from the time Karz was being filmed. She recalled that she and Rishi were dating during the shoot and that by the time the film hit theatres in June, they were already married. Reacting to her revelation, Subhash Ghai quipped, “If you’re dating during my film, you’ll get married.”
Subhash Ghai later took to Instagram to express his gratitude to Neetu for attending the event. Sharing a picture of the two together, he thanked the Jug Jugg Jeeyo actress for her presence and the touching tribute she paid to Rishi Kapoor. “THANK U NEETU for gracing the event of KARZ with so much joy n paying tribute to Rishi Kapoor when u said …I was dating Rishi Kapoor while he was shooting for karz and got married after its release n KARZ became a cult film till date,” he wrote.
The event served as a nostalgic moment for the team and fans of Karz, celebrating not just the film’s legacy but also the love story of Rishi and Neetu Kapoor.
