Netflix movie ‘Yeh Ballet’ was made from the true story of these 2 boys

The life story of Amiruddin Shah and Manish Chauhan became Netflix movie, ‘Yeh Ballet.’ The two ballet dancers were discovered by Yehuda Maor at the age of 15 and 21.

Many people may recognize ‘Asif’ and ‘Nishu’ from the Netflix film ‘Yeh Ballet.’However, few people are aware that the film about two ballet dancers is based on a true story.

Amiruddin Shah and Manish Chauhan were two underprivileged Mumbai children. Ballet master Yehuda Maor discovered them when they were 15 and 21, respectively. Their grace, flexibility, and backflips piqued his interest, and they began training as a result.

The incredible talents were quickly invited to international events, but due to financial constraints, those were omitted. Soon after, the duo was chosen for a one-year scholarship to train at the Oregon Ballet Theatre in Portland, Oregon. Amiruddin and Manish are now both professional ballet dancers.

Sooni Taraporevala documented their life story in 2017, which later became a film.

Amiruddin’s role in the film is played by debutant Achintya Bose, who has a background in dance. Manish, on the other hand, appears in it as a fictionalized version of himself.
