Star Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant achieved a significant milestone during Australia’s first innings in the ongoing Test match at the Optus Stadium in Perth. On Saturday, November 23, Pant completed Mitchell Starc’s catch off Harshit Rana’s delivery in the 16th over, ending the Australian innings at a modest 104.
This catch marked Pant’s 100th dismissal in the World Test Championship (WTC), making him only the third wicketkeeper in history to reach this milestone. The 27-year-old has now completed 83 catches and 17 stumpings in 30 WTC matches for India.
The record for most dismissals in the WTC belongs to Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey, who has 125 catches and 12 stumpings in 33 matches. West Indies’ Joshua Da Silva follows with 103 catches and 5 stumpings.
Pant’s consistent contributions behind the stumps continue to cement his place among the top wicketkeepers in world cricket, showcasing his prowess and reliability in high-pressure situations.
