Parth Samthaan could be making his long-awaited return to television, and if the latest buzz is anything to go by, it might just be with one of the most iconic shows in Indian TV history. According to reports, Parth is in discussions with the makers of CID and is likely to take on the role of ACP Pradyuman. “Parth Samthaan is likely to make his comeback on television after five years.” However, there has been no official confirmation from the actor or the channel regarding this development.
This news comes shortly after reports surfaced that veteran actor Shivaji Satam, who made ACP Pradyuman a household name, is preparing to exit the show. “It should be noted that the reports of Parth Samthaan joining CID come days after India Today reported that veteran actor Shivaji Satam is set to bid goodbye to the show.” His character is reportedly being written off in a dramatic storyline involving a bomb blast. The actor himself confirmed to a leading publication that he is currently on a break and “not shooting” for the show.
Parth, who first appeared as Prithvi Sanyal in Best Friends Forever, rose to fame with his portrayal of Manik Malhotra in Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan. He later played Anurag Basu in Ektaa Kapoor’s Kasautii Zindagii Kay reboot alongside Erica Fernandes. Most recently, he made his Bollywood debut in 2024 with Ghudchadi, a comedy-drama featuring Sanjay Dutt, Khushali Kumar, Raveena Tandon, and Aruna Irani.
As for CID, the iconic show returned with a second season on December 21, 2024, after going off air in 2018. The revival continues to stream on Netflix, and fans are eagerly watching to see if Parth will indeed step into the legendary shoes of ACP Pradyuman.
