The Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma succeeded in ending the 11-yr drought of the ICC trophy by winning the T20 World Cup 2024 which was played in USA and West Indies.
The Board for Control of Cricket in India announced a cash prize of Rs. 125 crore for the Indian team which included the 15-member squad, the coaching staff, the backroom staff, the reserve players and the members of the selection committee.
The 15 players along with the head coach were being rewarded with Rs. 5 crore each but as per the latest reports, Rahul Dravid has refused to take the extra bonus of Rs. 2.5 crore and said that he would like to get paid the same amount as the rest of the coaching staff.
A source stated, “Rahul wanted the same bonus money (Rs 2.5 crore) as the rest of his support staff (bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, fielding coach T Dilip, and batting coach Vikram Rathore). We respect his sentiments.”
Rahul Dravid, a real gentleman!
