Ranbir Kapoor has officially put all speculations to rest—Brahmastra 2 is very much on the way. During a recent meet-and-greet session with the media in Mumbai, the actor assured fans that the sequel to the 2022 blockbuster is happening. While filmmaker Ayan Mukerji is currently tied up with War 2, Ranbir revealed that once Hrithik Roshan’s action-packed film hits the screens, Ayan will dive straight into pre-production for Brahmastra 2.
Speaking about the project, Ranbir shared, “Brahmastra 2 is something that Ayan has been nurturing as a dream for a very long time. He is currently working on War 2. Once this releases, he will start pre-production of Brahmastra 2. It is definitely happening. We haven’t really announced much of it, but then some really interesting announcements (will be made soon) regarding Brahmastra 2.”
The first installment, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, hit theatres on September 9, 2022, and marked Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s first on-screen collaboration. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film boasted an ensemble cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy, with a special appearance by Shah Rukh Khan. The fantasy epic struck a chord with audiences, delivering a visual spectacle that went on to collect nearly ₹400 crore at the box office.
While details about Brahmastra 2 remain under wraps, Ranbir’s confirmation has reignited excitement among fans eagerly waiting for the next chapter in the Astraverse. With Ayan Mukerji’s grand vision and upcoming announcements on the horizon, the sequel promises to be bigger and better than ever.
