After months of speculation and swirling controversy, veteran actor Mukesh Khanna has finally addressed the rumors linking Ranveer Singh to the beloved superhero role of Shaktimaan. Speaking candidly on Shardul Pandit’s podcast, Khanna opened up about the confusion surrounding the project and offered insight into his meeting with the Bollywood star.

When asked directly whether a new Shaktimaan film is in the works, Khanna didn’t offer a simple yes or no. Instead, he responded with reflection and context: “For the last four years, people have been asking me this question. Two years were lost to the COVID era, and the other two got tangled in controversy.”

Khanna shared that Ranveer Singh had expressed a strong desire to take on the iconic role, one that Mukesh Khanna himself has personified for decades. “Ranveer Singh was very eager—desperate, even—to do Shaktimaan. I’ve said many good things about him,” he noted, recalling a detailed meeting with the actor. “He spent three hours with me and was very passionate about the role.”

Despite Ranveer’s enthusiasm and Khanna’s admiration for his talent, the actor made it clear that no official decision had been made. “I never said he is Shaktimaan,” Khanna clarified. “I praised his performance, his energy… But I want to see Shaktimaan as Shaktimaan. I’ve lived with that character for 30 years. So today, I can’t tell you whether Shaktimaan is coming or if it even should come.”

With these words, Khanna brought much-needed clarity to the debate while also leaving the door open for future possibilities—grounding the conversation not in casting rumors, but in reverence for a character that’s lived in his heart for three decades.
