RCB vs LSG IPL 2023: RCB repeats history in IPL after 15 years

IPL 2023 matchups are becoming increasingly exciting. In the second phase, all teams are vying for a spot in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the RCB and LSG squads squared off on Monday. The game proved to be really thrilling.

No one could have predicted that the match would reach this point when the RCB squad won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 126 runs for nine wickets. People who follow the IPL and cricket on a regular basis, however, are aware that low scoring matches do occur on occasion.

However, the LSG team could not even chase this small total, scoring 108 runs and getting out before the end of 20 overs. The match was won by RCB by 18 runs. Meanwhile, RCB did work in this match that had not been done in the previous 15 years.

Captained by Faf Duplesey, the RCB, , has saved a total of 126 runs. Earlier in the year, RCB salvaged a score of 127 runs against Chennai Super Kings; nevertheless, it is not that RCB did not make such a total while batting first, but they were unable to protect it. But it has now been saved for the second time.

RCB won the match in 2008 by defending the identical total, and they have already done it again. This is the lowest score RCB has ever preserved in IPL history. Following that, in the 2009 IPL, RCB successfully defended 134 against Rajasthan Royals. In the same year, against the Punjab Kings, RCB saved 146 runs.

In the contest, the RCB squad scored only 126 runs in 20 overs. This includes Faf Duplesey’s 44 off 40 balls, the team’s highest score. It had a four and a six in it. Simultaneously, Virat Kohli batted an inning of 31 runs in 30 balls. Three fours were required.

Apart from these two, the only other player to reach double figures was RCB’s Dinesh Karthik. He scored 16 runs on 11 pitches. His bat delivered four and six runs. When the LSG team came down to chase such a small score, Mohammad Siraj dealt the first blow in the first over, when Kyle Mayers couldn’t even open his account.

Following this, wickets fell at regular intervals, and the entire team could only score 108 runs. The majority of LSG’s scores came from Gautam’s bat, who struck 23 runs off 13 balls, as no other batsman reached the 20-run threshold.
