RRR: The audience cheering SS Rajamouli after he won Best Director at the New York Film Critics Circle went viral

RRR: The response to SS Rajamouli’s historical drama has been overwhelmingly positive for almost ten months since its premiere. After setting numerous box office records and winning numerous prestigious accolades, SS Rajamouli once more managed to stand out from the crowd when he was recognized for Best Director at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards 2022. In a recent video that has gone viral, the filmmaker is shown accepting the prize as the crowd claps heartily for him.

Rajamouli expressed thanks and thanked the judges and the audience for supporting his picture after accepting the prize. “You have drawn attention to a tiny film from the South of India. Like what the hell we just seen, it was pure joy and astonishment. I want my audiences to feel that, he said. The director also expressed his gratitude to his family for their unwavering support.

RRR has its sights set on the Oscars in 2023 after this. The song Naatu Naatu from the movie, which stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, has been shortlisted for best song. Despite the fact that RRR was submitted individually for 14 categories as part of the “For your consideration” campaign, it was not included in India’s official Oscar entry.

“Here we go… #NaatuNaatu becomes the first Indian song to be shortlisted for the Academy Awards! THANK YOU everyone for supporting us throughout our journey,” the makers said in a statement shared on the official Twitter page of RRR.

In addition, RRR, starring Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn, has been nominated for a Golden Globe for best motion picture made in a language other than English. In addition, it has been nominated for four more Critics’ Choice Awards: best picture, best foreign film, best director, and best visual effects.
