In memory of Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar, who passed away from a heart attack two years ago, the Karnataka government is preparing to introduce a program that will provide free life-saving injections to heart patients at 85 centers. During a budget session earlier this year, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the commencement of the “Puneeth Rajkumar Hrudaya (heart) Jyothi Yojane.” The program, dubbed “Spoke Centres,” will be implemented in 85 health centers throughout Karnataka, according to sources.
Patients in 85 locations will receive a “tenecteplase injection,” which is essential for treating critics, free of charge as part of the program.
According to government sources, the initial injection costs at private hospitals range from Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000.
They further stated that in order to assist those suffering from a heart attack, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) will be placed in courts, train stations, airports, Vidhan Soudha, and other public areas.
In public spaces around the state, up to 50 AEDs valued at ₹2 crore will be erected and made accessible to everyone, regardless of financial situation.
Tenecteplase injections are expected to cost around Rs 6,500 crore.
