Virender Sehwag condemns the verbal brawl between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli and asks the BCCI to ban the players responsible for such acts that set a wrong example for youngsters.
The ugly brawl between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli may be 3 days old now but it is still one of the most discussed topics in the cricket circles and some former cricketers have acted in a very strong manner and demanded stricter actions in order to ensure that no such thing happens again.
The former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag who has played with both Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli has tried to remind these two that they are the icons of many youngsters and if they will do such things, the youngsters may also repeat it in the future.
In fact, Sehwag has asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India to ban the players who are involved in these types of incidents because he feels that a strict action can only reduce such instances.
During an interview, he said, “If the BCCI decides to ban anyone, then maybe such incidents will happen rarely or not take place at all. Such incidents have happened several times in the past so it’s better to do whatever you want to inside
the controlled environment of the dressing room. When you’re on the ground, these things don’t look nice.”
Viru paaji reveals that his own kids can lip read and understand what these players are saying to each other so if his kids can understand, then other kids can also do that. In his words, “My own kids can lip-read and they very well understand Ben Stokes. So that is when I feel bad. If you’re saying such things, if my kids can read it, others can too and tomorrow they will think that if they (Kohli
and Gambhir) can say it, so can I.”
