Sharvari Wagh cinematic journey gained momentum last year with the resounding success of the horror-comedy Munjya, quickly followed by her performance in Maharaj. She then unveiled her gritty, intense side in Vedaa, starring opposite John Abraham. Now, the actress is preparing to take a major leap as she joins forces with Alia Bhatt in Alpha, the first female-led installment in the YRF Spy Universe.

In a recent interview, Sharvari shared her enthusiasm about the upcoming project. “I’m really looking forward to bringing this film to the theatres, especially because it is the first spy universe film with two women that is leading it,” she said, clearly excited about the film’s potential impact. She further added, “It truly is the first women’s action film. And I think that it will break a lot of glass ceilings. So, I’m excited and a little bit nervous about the film. I am keeping my fingers crossed about the same.”

While Sharvari Wagh has dabbled in action before with Vedaa Alpha marks a distinct shift in genre for her. The scale and nature of this action-packed film set it apart from anything she’s done previously. Reflecting on her experience, she admitted that Alpha tested her in new ways. “What challenged me was the genre of the film, which is action. The genre is something that I have not done before,” she said. “It was very different from the work that I had done before. The most challenging part would definitely be this.”

Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha promises to be a gripping thriller, with both Sharvari Wagh and Alia Bhatt portraying secret agents. The film is slated for a theatrical release on December 25 this year and is already generating buzz for its groundbreaking approach within the Indian spy-action genre.
