Actress Zarina Wahab, mother of Sooraj Pancholi, has made shocking comments regarding the tragic death of actress Jiah Khan. In a recent interview, Wahab alleged that Jiah had attempted suicide multiple times before meeting her son.
Wahab claimed Jiah had tried to take her life four or five times before her relationship with Sooraj Pancholi. She remarked, “It was destiny that when my son’s turn came, it happened.”
Reflecting on the aftermath, Wahab stated the case deeply affected Sooraj’s career and personal life. She added, “If you spoil someone’s life with lies, it’s like a loan that will come back with interest.”
Jiah Khan was found hanging in her Mumbai home in June 2013. She was in a romantic relationship with Sooraj Pancholi at the time. Following her death, Jiah’s mother accused Sooraj and his family of mistreating her, leading to his arrest for abetment of suicide under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code. After being released on bail, Jiah’s mother petitioned for a CBI investigation, resulting in a chargesheet filed against Sooraj in 2015.
In April 2023, a special CBI court acquitted Sooraj Pancholi, citing insufficient evidence to prove the charges.
The prolonged legal battle significantly affected Sooraj’s professional life. Wahab emphasized the emotional toll on her family during the decade-long ordeal, blaming the allegations for derailing her son’s career.
