While RRR co-stars Jr NTR and Alia Bhatt may share a professional connection, their bond goes beyond the film set. During a recent conversation with Jr NTR and filmmaker Karan Johar, Alia revealed a special moment when she and her husband Ranbir Kapoor first discussed potential names for their baby at Jr NTR’s home in Hyderabad.
Alia recalled the moment, saying, “Taarak graciously invited us to his home after the Brahmastra press meet in Hyderabad. I was fully pregnant at that time, and we had a warm evening on his terrace. It was the first time Ranbir and I discussed baby names in front of others.” Jr NTR humorously added, “I started praying, I wish it was Raha. And finally, there she is (laughs).”
Both Jr NTR and Alia reflected on how becoming parents has impacted their professional lives. Jr NTR shared that the birth of his son Abhay shifted his perspective, leading him to seek creative fulfillment in projects that justified being away from his family. He mentioned that his priorities changed after parenthood, motivating him to choose work that added value to his life beyond stardom.
Similarly, Alia Bhatt spoke about how motherhood has transformed her. After the birth of her daughter Raha, she felt a deep sense of responsibility and protection. She also noted that actors tend to become self-focused, but motherhood made her invest emotionally in another human. This new perspective influenced her upcoming film Jigra, where she plays a sister fiercely protecting her brother. Alia revealed the role resonated deeply with her feelings of protectiveness towards her newborn daughter.
