This Actress Feels Deepika, Kangana & Alia Should Ask For Higher Fees

The Indian film industry is known for male dominance and pay disparity but things are changing slowly as now actresses are able to pull crowd in theatres because of which some of the lead actresses are getting paid more than the lead actors.

The senior actress Madhoo who is seen recently in “Shaakuntalam” gave an interview in which she talked about these two issues. She stated that she never questioned it because she always wanted to be on the screen and she considered it as a gift. She further said that in those days, mostly action movies were made in which actresses had little work to do and actors had to do almost everything from fighting, romance, rescue, etc. so she never questioned pay disparity and she was fine getting paid less than the actors.

Madhoo who made her Bollywood debut with “Phool Aur Kaante” opposite Ajay Devgn further said that in those days, films were mostly known by the name of the lead actors and even if people loved a particular pairing, the actress never got discredited if the movie is not liked by audiences.

Madhoo added that in those times, audiences never came to watch an actress alone but actresses such as Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut, etc. should ask for higher pay as audiences come to watch them alone and they have the capability to pull people in theatres.

We certainly agree with Madhoo, do you?
