This Bollywood veteran actor won’t watch The Kerala Story; compares its success to Nazi Rule of Hitler

Bollywood’s veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah says he won’t watch The Kerala Story. He compared the Adah Sharma starrer’s success to Hitler’s Nazi Rule in Germany.

One of the most talked-about subjects in the nation is Adah Sharma’s The Kerala Story. The movie has generated controversy, with some defending it and others charging that it promotes Islamophobia. Following other actors, Bollywood legend Naseeruddin Shah has now come out against the film and criticized its storyline. The performer further linked Hitler’s Nazi dictatorship to the popularity of the movie.

Shah has previously criticized films produced by the government. He frequently criticizes the governing party in public and is never afraid to express his uncensored opinions.

The Kerala Story has been criticized before by performers like Kamal Haasan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, therefore Naseeruddin Shah is not the first to do so. The actor recently admitted to India Today that he hasn’t seen the movie yet and doesn’t plan to.

“Worthwhile films like Bheed, Afwaah, and Faraaz, all three collapsed,” The Taj: Reign of Revenge actor stated. The Kerala Story, which I have not seen and do not want to watch because I have read enough about it, is drawing large crowds despite the fact that nobody went to see them.

Additionally, Naseeruddin Shah referred to the movie’s success as risky. On one side, it is a dangerous tendency, there is no doubt about that, he remarked, equating India to Hitler’s Nazi rule. We appear to be moving in the direction of Nazi Germany, when the supreme commander coerced or attempted to coerce artists to produce films glorifying him and what he had accomplished for the people while demonizing the Jewish population.

Slamming several directors, he said, “So many outstanding German filmmakers fled the country and went to Hollywood, where they created movies. The same thing appears to be taking place here. Stay on the right side, be impartial, or support the status quo.

Further asserting that The Kerala Story is fomenting hatred, Naseeruddin Shah said he hoped the “atmosphere” will shift. On the other hand, I have hope that this environment of hatred becomes exhausting, he added. How much longer can you continue to propagate hate? I believe and believe that it will vanish the way it has suddenly swallowed us all. But not any time soon.
