The Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is getting praised a lot for his innings of 92 against Punjab Kings in the match which was played yesterday at HPCA stadium.
We have heard many people talking about the slow strike rate of Virat Kohli but in yesterday’s match, Kohli faced only 47 balls and he batted at the strike rate of 195.74. Many former cricketers including Sourav Ganguly have recommended that Virat Kohli should open in the T20 World Cup along with Rohit Sharma as he will get more balls to play if he opens the innings and the team will surely get benefitted of his sublime form.
While speaking at an event in Bengaluru, Sourav Ganguly stated, “Virat is playing exceptionally well. The way Kohli batted last night – 90 in quick time, you need to use him as an opener in the T20 World Cup. He should open, evidenced by his last few IPL innings which have been outstanding.”
Ganguly feels that this Indian squad will be able to win India’s second T20 World Cup trophy, talking about the team he said, “This is an excellent squad. I think they have picked the best possible squad. Apart from batting depth, bowling looks excellent. Bumrah is the best fast bowler in the world at the moment. We have experience in Kuldeep, Axar, Siraj. It’s an ideal combination we have this time.”
Do you agree with Sourav Ganguly that Virat Kohli should open in the T20 World Cup?
