Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, has proven to be a cinematic juggernaut, smashing box office records with a staggering collection of over ₹1000 crore in India alone. Directed by Sukumar, the film was released on December 4, 2024, and quickly won over both audiences and critics, solidifying its place as one of the most successful action thrillers in recent memory.
At the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit 2025, Allu Arjun took the stage to reflect on various facets of his career and the making of Pushpa 2. Among the highlights of his talk was an insight into the film’s now-iconic ‘pallu’ scene—a moment that captivated fans in the teaser and trailer but came at the cost of immense effort.
The actor shared just how challenging it was to capture that brief yet powerful sequence. “It was a shot in the trailer, and it was also in one of the first teasers for Pushpa 2. I don’t know how many people have seen it. We started shooting it, and it was a very complex shot, and it took 70 to 80 takes. We started in the morning around 8:30 am, and around 11 am, I started to get the hang of it. Finally, by around 2:30 pm, we got the shot.”
Allu Arjun’s revelation underscores the dedication and precision behind even a few seconds of film, offering fans a deeper appreciation of the craft involved in creating such memorable cinematic moments.
