While Anupamaa had been reigning supreme on the TRP charts for years, it has now been dethroned by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Udne Ki Aasha. This shift in rankings has sparked reactions from the show’s maker, Rajan Shahi, who addressed the drop in viewership ratings. He emphasized that fluctuations in TRPs are a natural part of television dynamics and assured fans that the team remains committed to reclaiming the top position.
Speaking to an entertainment portal, Rajan Shahi acknowledged the importance of ratings across the television industry, stating that TRP matters to everyone involved, from actors to caterers. He admitted that while TRPs do hold significance, his primary focus remains on delivering quality content. Rajan Shahi further highlighted that his production house, DKP, believes in working on a limited number of shows to maintain high standards. Reflecting on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’s long journey, he noted that experiencing highs and lows is completely organic and part of the show’s continued evolution.
The producer also praised the current chart-toppers, including the Kanwar Dhillon and Neha Harsora starrer Udne Ki Aasha. He extended his best wishes to the cast and crew of the successful shows, maintaining a positive outlook despite the setback.
Rupali Ganguly, who has played the titular role in Anupamaa since its premiere in July 2020, continues to be a driving force in the series. Having been associated with the show for over four years, her performance remains a key highlight, as the team works hard to regain its leading spot in the TRP race.
