Truecaller has introduced a feature that aids companies in verifying their identity during client calls. The company is suggesting that the new feature Secure Calls is meant to mitigate call spoofing by serving as an authentication badge and verification tool. The feature does verify the identity of a genuine company as a true client on the backend with the company’s tech. Within Truecaller’s call ID pop-up, the recipient sees a Secure Calls emblem which is presented on the front end.
Worldwide Availability of Truecaller’s Secure Calls
The Stockholm, Sweden based call ID and spam blocker software elaborated on the feature in a press release. The Truecaller’s verified Business ecosystem which shows confirmed caller ids of recognized firms is the basis for this feature. The organization’s primary objective with Secure Calls is prove every outbound call is linked to a verified entity.
Businesses that have many contacts with their clients and several vendors will find this feature very beneficial. Usually, these companies are impersonated by malicious actors who try to phish information from innocent people.
In short, Secure Calls is an authentication feature that alerts users when a call is from a verified company. Currently, only Truecaller For Business subscribers can access this feature. When callers link to these business accounts’ phones, the business verifies the caller before confirming the link to the call to ascertain that it is not a fraudster.
After the verification is done, the recipient will see a golden lock icon with the words “Secure Call” on the Truecaller ID pop-up. Thanks to these, users can confirm that the call is genuine and not from a scammer.
“Secure Calls now enables strong call-by-call assurance. The Clear visual indicators within Truecaller will inform the user of incoming calls and has been verified as Secure Calls. The user receives TruCaller and can instantly tell,” said Fredrik Kjell, COO at Truecaller.
Truecaller has already onboarded Bengaluru-based prop-tech company NoBroker to use the Secure Calls service. Importantly, companies across the globe can take advantage of this feature.
