Mumbai-based well-known restauranteur, night club and gym owner Viraj Mahamunkar were conferred with the auspicious Idols of Maharashtra Award 2022 on 11th June at Tipop Plaza hotel in Thane, Mumbai.
Sakal Media Group organised the award ceremony to felicitate those Bhumiputras-son of the soil, who has inspired the community with their exemplary achievements in their concerned sectors in Maharashtra. The glittering occasion was marked by the many eminent personalities such as Ms. Vidya Chavan, President of NCP, well-known Singer Anuradha Paudwal, and Famous tv actors and actresses from Colors and Starpravah channels.
Viraj is among those 45 young, professional, and successful individuals who were honoured for their unique contributions to society and the state. Viraj Mahamunkar is a famous personality in the hospitality industry who has scaled new heights through his hard work and vision that involves adapting to the fast pace of the industry and the ever-changing landscape.
On winning the award, the young entrepreneur said, “The Idol of Maharashtra award is a noteworthy achievement and recognises the fantastic efforts of our hospitality team who have bounced back from lockdown period to deliver great, memorable services to the people of Mumbai. This kind of appreciation motivates me to strive to provide a healthier lifestyle to people.”
Viraj Mahamunkar is the founder of ‘The One Hospitality,’ who owns and operates unique themed restaurants, nightclubs, and gyms in Thane and Mumbai. He is the brain behind the famous Greek-themed restaurant ‘Greek Gyros’ along with the Gym Alpha Premium fitness center. He knows it takes persistence and hard work to succeed and survive in the industry. His out-of-the-box thinking, attention to detail, and strong communication skills make him retain old customers and keep getting new customers, primarily through recommendations. Because of him and his co-partners, the nightclub, XOYO, received the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award for its best new-age insatiable nightclub experience.
Besides donning a successful businessman’s hat, Viraj Mahamunkar is also the additional secretary of Shiv Sena’s Youth Wing. The youth leader has undertaken numerous social projects such as organising blood donation camps, tree plantation drives, food distribution to the needy, and sanitisation drives during covid. His Company, ‘The One Hospitality,’ served around 3000 meals a day during peak times of Covid and continues to serve various hospitals and government centres in times of need. Viraj is constantly working with complete dedication and enthusiasm in events that aim to serve the community, especially those concerned with the youth.
