The Indian cricketer Virat Kohli put up a great show once again in the ongoing IPL 2024 and this time, he played a blistering knock of 92 runs (47 balls, 7 fours & 6 sixes) against Punjab Kings in the match which was played yesterday at HPCA stadium.
RCB batters Rajat Patidar (55 runs) and Cameron Green (46 runs) also played useful knocks and helped their team in putting up a total of 241/7 on the scoreboard. The whole team of Punjab got out at the score of 181 runs and RCB registered their fourth successive victory as they defeated PBKS by a big margin of 60 runs.
Virat Kohli was adjudged as the Player of the Match and during the post-match presentation, he said that for him it is still quality over quantity. In his words, “For me it’s still quality over quantity. For me it works really well. Also the understanding of the game allows you to practice less, just try to replicate what I have done in the past. Still aiming to improve aspects of the game that you want to get batter at. It’s an evolving process.”
Virat Kohli further said, “I brought out the slogsweep against the spinners. I didn’t practice it, I know I have hit it in the past. Always looking to expose that side of the field against spin. I know I need to take risks, it needs a bit of conviction. I have been managing to stay ahead of that thought. I am trying to keep up with the strike rate for me and the team.”
RCB is currently at the seventh position with 5 wins in 12 matches and this win has helped in keeping their hopes of entering the play-offs alive.
