As anticipation builds for her upcoming release Bhool Chuk Maaf, Wamiqa Gabbi took a moment to reflect on one of her past projects, Baby John. The film, which hit theatres last year, garnered a mixed response and didn’t quite meet expectations at the box office. Despite the lukewarm commercial performance, Wamiqa’s role was widely acknowledged, with her performance emerging as a highlight.
In a recent conversation, she addressed the film’s reception with honesty and clarity. “Yeah, I did my best and I think everybody did their best. A lot of people liked it, and a lot of people did not resonate with it also,” she said, noting the divided audience response.
She also pointed to the film’s remake status as a possible factor that hindered its success. “I also think it was a remake, and people had already watched the original,” she added, indicating that familiarity with the source material may have affected audience interest.
