Production on Pause: Suzuki Motor Company Stops Car and Bike Plants in Pakistan due to Import Restrictions

0

On Monday, the manufacturer reported the news to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).The government import limitations, which continue to have an impact on the auto industry and have caused a shortage of inventories, were cited as the reason for the decision.

The warning stated that the motorcycle and vehicle plants would be shut down from June 22, 2023 to July 8, 2023 due to a shortage of inventory.

Earlier, PSMC had previously shut down its motorcycle plant. Due to a shortage of raw materials, the car assembler shut down both its motorbike and vehicle plants from May 2 to May 9.

Furthermore closed from April 7 to April 28 was the auto assembly factory. Suzuki motorcycles, sedans, pickup trucks, vans, 4x4s, and other vehicles are assembled, produced, and sold by PMSC along with any necessary replacement components.

Due to a decline in sales and hefty finance costs, the auto maker reported its highest-ever quarterly loss of Rs12.9 billion back in April. In the same period last year, the auto manufacturing company reported a loss of Rs460.227 million.

Several difficulties are now plaguing Pakistan’s auto industry. In recent months, the production of other publicly traded enterprises like Indus Motor Company Limited and Honda Atlas Cars has also been halted because of financial issues.

The government’s decision to limit imports and the issuance of Letters of Credit (LC) has had a significant negative impact on the nation’s auto industry, which is heavily dependent on imports. Higher borrowing costs and sharp price rises for cars have also decreased customer demand.

Adipurush: Not Prabhas But This Actor Was First Choice For The Role Of Raghav

The recently released movie Adipurush got a great opening due to the hype that was created for the film but the majority of audiences is highly disappointed after watching the movie, especially because of the characterization, tampering of the facts, poor quality of VFX, disrespectful dialogues and for sexualizing Maa Sita as well.

Fans of Prabhas are saying that it is not their favourite actor’s failure but it is director Om Raut who has failed miserably. The cast of Ramanand Sagar directed Ramayana has also slammed the makers and the actors. Moreover, the movie crashed at the box-office on Monday due to bad word of mouth publicity.

“Building Ties: Defence and Trade Highlights of Prime Minister Modi’s Major Visit to the US”

0

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for the US on a historic state visit, receiving the highest level of diplomatic honors usually reserved for close allies. During the visit, an unparalleled agreement on the transfer of jet engine technology is also expected.

This week, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go to the United States for a trip welcomed as a turning point in mutual relations, with more defence industry cooperation and the sharing of cutting-edge technology taking the stage.

The visit is anticipated to strengthen a new connection that is supported by not only global politics but also commerce and economics by giving India access to crucial American technologies that Washington rarely shares with non-allies.

In a period of its own military concerns and poor ties with China, India has also overcome its “hesitations of history” and turned towards the West, as Modi phrased it in a 2016 speech to the U.S. Congress.

Despite having made multiple prior trips to the US, this will be Modi’s first with the full diplomatic status of an official state visit. It will also be the third visit by an Indian leader to the US during the presidency of Joe Biden.

It marks a turning point in our relationship. According to India’s Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, it is a highly significant and essential visit.

According to Kwatra, a significant accomplishment in the field of defence cooperation, particularly between the militaries of the two nations, would be highlighted as India aims to increase domestic production of weapons and equipment for both domestic use and export.

Unbearable Heat Claims 14 Lives at Ballia Hospital in UP, Ongoing Investigation Uncovers Truth”

0

In the course of one day on Sunday, the Ballia district hospital reported 178 admissions and at least 14 new deaths related to the heat wave in Uttar Pradesh. Between June 15 and June 18, the death toll rose to 68, and Lucknow authorities are looking into why this happened.

Ravindra Kumar, the district magistrate, stated on Sunday that there is currently no “solid evidence” connecting the deaths to the high temperatures. The state government fired Dr. Diwakar Singh from his position as chief medical superintendent of the district hospital on Saturday because he “made an irresponsible statement on deaths caused by heat wave without having proper information.”

On June 15, at least 154 patients were admitted to the hospital, and 23 of them passed away. Twenty persons died out of the 137 patients brought to the hospital on June 16. On June 17, 11 hospital deaths were reported, while on June 18, 178 new patients were admitted and 14 fatalities were reported by hospital officials.

According to Ballia Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jayant Kumar, out of the 54 fatalities at the time of his statement, “40% of the patients had fever, while 60% were suffering from other diseases.”

“Only in Ballia have such complaints been made; in neighboring districts, none have. Additionally, fever and loss of consciousness are the first symptoms that a patient in a heat wave complains about. The patient in this instance, however, initially reported chest pain, followed by complaints of breathing issues and fever. Additionally, despite the summer, the fever is not as high as it should be, he said.

BJP Raises Concerns: Demands Probe into Rs 1,600-Crore Ambulance Contract in Bihar

0

On Monday, the Bihar BJP demanded an investigation into the awarding of a Rs. 1,600 crore ambulance contract to a company run by Chandeshwar Prasad Chandravanshi’s relatives, a JD (U) Jehanabad MP. They also asked that the contract be put on hold until the investigation is complete or the Patna High Court rules on the issue.

It was described as a “clear case of conflict of interest and political patronage” by the opposition party. An article headlined “Despite court’s caution, red flags, Bihar govt awards Rs 1600-cr ambulance contract to firm of JD (U) MP’s

Sushil Kumar Modi, a Rajya Sabha member and a former deputy chief minister, told The Indian Express that the situation was a blatant example of political patronage. We demand that the contract be terminated, especially because the Patna High Court had raised concerns over the disclosure of bid materials by the State Health Society of Bihar. When the case is being heard by the high court and the Supreme Court has also intervened, the state government’s argument that it should rely on the AG’s legal opinion is inadmissible.

The Bihar BJP requested an investigation on Monday into the awarding of a Rs. 1,600 crores ambulance contract to a business managed by a JD (U) Jehanabad MP and Chandeshwar Prasad Chandravanshi’s relatives. In addition, they requested that the contract be suspended pending the outcome of the investigation or a ruling from the Patna High Court.

A “clear case of conflict of interest and political patronage” was how the opposition party described it. A report with the heading “Bihar government awards Rs 1600 crores ambulance contract to JD (U) MP’s firm”

Additionally, it has for the first time included a provision in the contract allowing for a three-year extension.

Tense Moments in Manipur: Soldier Injured in Unprovoked Gunfire within Rising Violence

In Chinmang hamlet, three homes were also set on fire by miscreants; the Army afterwards put out the fires. Following a period of relative peace, unjustified gunfire began once more in Kanto Sabal’s Meitei Village about 2.35 am and persisted till 3 am, according to sources who spoke to PTI.

On May 3, when a ‘Tribal Solidarity March’ was planned to protest against the Meitei community’s desire for Scheduled Tribe recognition, fighting started in Manipur. The ethnic conflict between the Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur that started a month ago has claimed the lives of over 100 individuals. To discourage the spread of disinformation, a curfew was enforced in 11 regions and internet usage was prohibited.

A little more than 53% of Manipur’s population is Meiteis, while 40% are tribal people from the Naga and Kuki tribes. The first group resides in the Imphal valley, while the second group lives in the hill areas.

According to the report, the remaining 779 individuals sought refuge in the following eight districts: Champhai, Lunglei, Mamit, Hnahthial, Serchhip, Siaha, Khawzawl, and Lawngtlai.

35 help camps have been established by the village and state governments. But the majority of the displaced Zo ethnic tribe members are staying with their relatives, and some of them are also renting homes.

The Manipur state government declared on Sunday that it has started the process of relaxing a curfew that was put in place there after 45 days of civil strife. The goal is to reduce the rage that has erupted into the streets and return things to normal.

“We have decided to lift the curfew from 5 am to 5 pm, allowing residents to purchase food, medicine, and other essential items,” declared Diana Devi, a state government official in Imphal.
