“Very Embarrassing,” Aamir Khan Talks About Strained Relations With His Father Tahir Hussain

Aamir Khan, widely known as “Mr. Perfectionist,” navigated a deeply impactful and evolving relationship with his parents, Tahir Hussain, a producer-director, and Zeenat Hussain, a homemaker. This upbringing was characterized by stringent discipline and financial challenges, yet it was undeniably underscored by profound familial ties. While his mother is consistently described by Aamir as a gentle and nurturing presence, offering unwavering encouragement, his dynamic with his father was notably more contentious.

Aamir once shared on a YouTube channel how his mother was a beacon of empathy and sensitivity throughout his life. “I have never heard my mother raise her voice. Me and Faisal (his brother) would have a lot of fun as kids, so she would just say, ‘Aamir, aap aisa karenge? (Aamir, will you do this?)’ This was the maximum that she would scold us,” he recounted.

In stark contrast, his interactions with his father were quite different. Aamir recalled, “My father and my mother were very different personalities. Faisal and I would get prints of his hand on our faces. We would get slapped with the back of his hand; he used to wear a ring, and that ring would leave a mark on our face. So the next day, when we would go to school, it would be very embarrassing.”

Initially, Aamir Khan did not share a close bond with his father. Their relationship faced further strain due to a 2007 custody battle involving his brother and disagreements over business decisions, which led to Aamir distancing himself. However, despite these difficult periods, they eventually reconciled. Tahir Hussain passed away in Mumbai on February 2, 2010, after suffering a massive heart attack.

Aamir, who was abroad at the time, immediately returned upon hearing the news, later sharing heartfelt memories and expressions of deep respect for his father on social media.

Gautam Gambhir Is Back In England With Team India After Family Emergency

0

India men’s cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir has rejoined the squad in Leeds, England, just ahead of the first Test which commences this Friday. Gambhir had briefly returned to India last week following reports of his mother’s hospitalization due to health complications.

During his absence, which began just before an intra-squad match in Beckenham, assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate stepped in to take charge.

This tour holds significant importance for Gambhir, whose tenure as head coach has seen a mix of results so far. While India lifted the Champions Trophy earlier this year under his guidance, they also failed to qualify for the World Test Championship final for the first time in three cycles.

This was largely due to losing five of their last eight Tests, including a historic clean sweep at home against New Zealand last year, which ultimately knocked them out of WTC final contention.

The upcoming series marks the dawn of a new era in Indian Test cricket, with Shubman Gill taking the reins as the new captain. This transition comes as seasoned veterans like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravichandran Ashwin have all recently retired from the format.

All the best to team India!

Planning a Waterfall Trip This Monsoon? Read These Safety Guidelines First

0

Monsoon turns dusty towns into leafy havens overnight and quiet brooks into thundering displays. If you plan a waterfall outing during the season, the excitement is huge, but so is exposure to real danger. Slippery stones, quick water rises, and shifting skies place safety at the top of the list.

Before you gear up, read these handy tips so every splash stays fun and none ends in regret.

  1. Check the Weather Forecast

Always glance at the forecast for rain in your area and upstream. Heavy showers anywhere along the river can trigger flash floods or shoot water levels sky-high. When the Met Departments red or orange alert flashes, stay home.

  1. Wear the Right Footwear

Trails become slick, muddy, and rough in minutes. Slip on solid, non-skid trekking shoes or light, water-resistant footwear that grips wet stone. Flip-flops or flimsy sandals can roll, slide, and leave you tumbling.

  1. Don’t Venture Too Close to the Edge

Stick to marked paths, rails, and viewpoints. Most accidents happen while chasing the perfect shot inches from the drop. Currents hide their true strength behind the spray, and monsoon rivers are always stronger than they seem.

  1. Avoid Swimming in Unfamiliar Waters

Its easy to feel pulled in by the cool splash below a scenic falls, yet jump in only where signs say its okay. Hidden rocks, strong currents and sudden spikes in water level can turn fun into crisis fast.

  1. Travel in Groups

Moving with friends or family is simply smarter. If something goes wrong, your crew can give quick aid and talk through tough choices. And be sure to let someone back home know where you plan to roam.

  1. Carry Essentials Only

Pack only what you really need: clean water, a small first-aid kit, a dry bag, a headlamp and fresh clothes. Leave pricey gadgets behind; mud and spray ruin them in seconds.

A monsoon trip to the falls can feel magical when you act wisely. Honour the wild, put safety first and listen to local advice. Enjoy every drop, but keep an eye on the risks hiding beneath the surface.

Bowlers Don’t Hide Behind Bats: Bumrah Reacts As Virat Calls IPL Below Test Standard

0

Even in the euphoria of finally clinching an IPL trophy with Royal Challengers Bengaluru after 18 long years, Virat Kohli’s profound love for Test cricket shone through. While he acknowledged the title-winning season as a pinnacle in his illustrious career, Kohli emphatically ranked the IPL “five levels below Test cricket” during a post-match interview with broadcasters in Ahmedabad. He went on to implore young cricketers to prioritize red-ball cricket, emphasizing its importance for earning true respect in the sport.

Echoing Kohli’s sentiment on the purity of the format, his teammate Jasprit Bumrah offered a more nuanced perspective, acknowledging the individual circumstances, particularly for bowlers. “It is up to the individual. They have one career, and bowlers don’t hide behind a bat. A lot of strain is put on the body,” Bumrah explained on Star Sports.

He highlighted the financial considerations and physical toll on players, suggesting a pragmatic approach: “You have a family to take care of and earn money. If sometimes their bodies don’t allow them to play red-ball cricket and they still want to contribute, it is better to be smarter.”

Bumrah, like Kohli, grew up revering Test cricket. “Everybody is different. I grew up watching Test cricket, which is the pinnacle for me. I judge myself based on performances in the longest format,” he stated. However, he also recognized the evolving landscape of the sport. “The current generation is different. T20 cricket is there, and you have got different leagues. The mindset and thought process have changed. You can’t judge fast bowlers. Test cricket is the purest format, but everybody is different,” he concluded, providing a balanced view on the shifting priorities in modern cricket.

Jasprit Bumrah does make sense, doesn’t he?

Dealing with Nasal Allergies? Try These 4 Expert Tips to Control Triggers

0

Nasal allergies-or allergic rhinitis-can emerge any month, unleashing sneezes, watery eyes, blocked sinuses, and even tension headaches. Pollen, dust, pet hair, or urban smog may stir the storm, yet life does not have to halt. When you pair daily precautions with the right products, symptoms shrink and comfort returns. Read on for four expert-backed strategies that help you outsmart triggers and reclaim clear breathing.

  1. Pinpoint your triggers and cut back on them

First, figure out the real culprit behind each flare-up. Dust mites, mold spores, tree or grass pollen, pet dander, and secondhand smoke often top the list. A simple skin or blood test ordered by an ENT or allergist can reveal your personal roster of offenders. After that, shrink contact: slip on dust-proof bedding, stay indoors when pollen soars, vacuum with a HEPA filter, and keep furry friends out of the bedroom.

  1. Maintain a Clean Indoor Environment

Cleaning the air inside your house can ease many allergy problems. Run a vacuum with HEPA filters on carpets and furniture to pull out dust and pet hair. Add a room-sized air purifier to trap mold spores, pollen, and dander that float in the air. Wash curtains, sheets, and cushions in hot water every few weeks to kill dust mites. During pollen season keep windows shut and skip ceiling fans that stir up settled debris.

  1. Rinse Your Sinuses with Saline Solution

Rinsing your nose with salt water is a quick way to clear allergy buildup. You can use a neti pot or a pre-made saline spray to wash out mucus, pollen, and irritants. Aim for once or twice a day when the season peaks or symptoms spike. Always start with distilled or boiled water cooled to body temperature to avoid germs.

  1. Follow the Right Medication Plan

Antihistamines, nasal steroids, and short-term decongestants can ease swelling and itch. For steady care, ask your doctor which combination suits you best. Serious allergies may call for immunotherapy-injections or tablets that retrain the immune system. Before adding or changing any medicine, check in with your healthcare provider.

Closing Remark: Though nasal allergies lack a definitive cure, their impact can be meaningfully reduced through diligent care. By following these evidence-based recommendations consistently and in advance of peak seasons, you stand to ease discomfort and enhance day-to-day living.

Rishabh Pant Has A Chance To Script History By Surpassing MS Dhoni….

0

Following a challenging IPL 2025 season with Lucknow Super Giants, both as captain and batter, Rishabh Pant now stands on the cusp of a significant Test cricket milestone. He has the chance to eclipse the legendary MS Dhoni and become India’s most prolific wicketkeeper-batter in challenging overseas conditions—specifically in South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia (SENA).

Since his Test debut in 2018, Pant’s aggressive and often unpredictable playing style, particularly away from home, has earned him a range of descriptors: “counterattacking,” “bold,” “audacious,” “stubborn,” “risky,” “foolish,” and even “match-turning.” His approach can swing wildly, leaving spectators awe-struck one moment with a brilliant stroke and then frustrated the next by a reckless shot that leads to his dismissal.

A testament to his adaptability in demanding environments, four of Pant’s six Test centuries have been scored in SENA countries. Fans who witnessed his previous tours to Australia and England will recall his unique method: initially playing a few deliveries cautiously for singles and doubles to gauge the pitch, before suddenly donning his ‘Spidey’ suit and unleashing unparalleled batting acrobatics.

Whether it involves tumbling to the ground mid-shot, his bat flying from his hand after an aerial strike, or an audacious one-handed six, Pant’s next move at the crease remains perpetually unpredictable. Securing one more century would elevate his Test century tally to seven, a record for an Indian wicketkeeper-batter, surpassing MS Dhoni’s six tons in the format.

All the best, Rishabh Pant!
