Prithvi Shaw Confesses He Made Wrong Decisions & Gave Importance To Wrong Things

The last few years have been particularly challenging for Prithvi Shaw, a cricketer once touted as the future of Indian cricket. Recent developments saw him dropped from Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad, and he also found no bidders in the IPL 2025 auction.

Amid swirling rumors about his fitness and lifestyle, Shaw has drawn considerable criticism from both fans and experts. Now, the 25-year-old has finally addressed his struggles in an interview, admitting that he became distracted from his primary focus: cricket.

“I have taken some wrong decisions in life. I feel that I started giving less time to cricket. I used to spend almost half of my day at the ground till 2023. But after that, I started giving importance to the wrong things. I made some wrong friends. At that time, I was at the top and this is the time when you attract a lot of friends. I got off-track and my time at the ground went down from 8 hours to just 4 hours,” Prithvi revealed.

Prithvi Shaw also spoke about a difficult personal period following the death of his grandfather. “There are a lot of things. It’s not just that. I had a family problem. My grandfather had passed away. He was very dear to me. There are a lot of things that I can’t tell you. But I can feel it.” He further added, “I admit my mistakes. But my dad has always supported me. No matter how bad my time was. He has seen good and bad.”

In a recent move signaling a potential fresh start, Prithvi has opted to leave Mumbai and will now play for a different team in the Ranji Trophy, having already received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association.

The highly popular web series Panchayat continues to captivate audiences with its current season, solidifying its place in the hearts of viewers. Recently, a significant update regarding Season 5 emerged from writer Chandan Kumar, who confirmed that both the direction and script are already prepared.

In an interview, Chandan Kumar acknowledged the rising expectations that accompany each new season, stating, “The more seasons we do, the more expectations rise amongst fans. That is very challenging. Our attempt is not to do something completely out of the box. The story needs to be connected. There needs to be a prelude to everything that is happening. We don’t do anything random. We keep things interconnected.”

Kumar further revealed their proactive approach, explaining, “The feedback was almost similar to what we had anticipated. Similarly, while Season 4 is releasing, we already have the direction and script for Season 5. We don’t take the audience’s love for granted. Every decision is made keeping in mind the world we’ve created and the people who’ve grown with it.”

Meanwhile, actress Neena Gupta, reflecting on Panchayat’s phenomenal success in an interview with Hindustan Times, expressed her surprise. She admitted, “I could have never thought this would be so successful. The writing was good, which is why we all said yes to it. The cast was good and I knew many of them. It was fun. But I never imagined it would be such a grand success.”

Panchayat tells the story of Abhishek, portrayed by Jitendra Kumar, an MBA aspirant who finds himself becoming the Panchayat Secretary of the quaint village of Phulera. Neena Gupta plays the pivotal role of Manju Devi, the Panchayat chief.

Ex-Indian Coach Ravi Shastri Feels Headingley Defeat Is A Tough Pill To….

0

Former Team India head coach and celebrated cricketer Ravi Shastri feels India’s five-wicket defeat to England in the opening Test at Headingley is an incredibly “tough pill to swallow.” This match marked the dawn of a new era for India under the guidance of head coach Gautam Gambhir, as they stepped onto the field without their batting stalwarts, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Shubman Gill embraced the captaincy, leading India into this fresh chapter, which began with the challenging Test at Headingley.

The initial days of the opening Test offered considerable promise. Even without their key batsmen, India managed to dominate England for a significant four-day period. However, the momentum dramatically shifted against India at a crucial juncture, primarily due to missed catching opportunities and two collapses by the tail-enders. England, renowned for their successful chases, capitalised on these missteps, achieving a 371-run target to secure a 1-0 lead in the series.

Reflecting on the outcome, Ravi Shastri shared his perspective on Sky Sports, stating, “This will be a tough pill for India to swallow. You don’t get in positions like this very often, and blow it from there. They had a chance to take England out of the contest and dictate terms. They have to learn and they need more bottle from the tail, for them to be stubborn and put a price tag on their wicket.”

Shastri is damn correct, isn’t he?

Rahul Bose Admits He Was A “Nikamma”, His Mother Slapped Him Daily For 5 Yrs

Actor Rahul Bose recently shared insights into his upbringing, revealing a household that significantly defied conventional gender norms. He recounted how his father was notably more focused on appearances and clothing, while his mother adopted a more career-oriented approach, actively pushing him towards sports.

Bose openly admitted to being a “useless” child, suggesting that his mother’s rigorous parenting played a crucial role in shaping the person he is today.

In a conversation with ANI, Rahul Bose explained, “I was woke way before the word came up because my mother never cooked, my father cooked. My mother slapped me every day for 5 years. I was such a nikamma (useless) that it only helped me. And you can’t say that these days, but believe me, I was such a nikamma those days that it only helped. She forced me to play Rugby and box.”

Bose further elaborated on his distinct childhood experiences, stating, “I boxed in school, and my father was appalled. He wanted me to wear a cap so that I wouldn’t get too dark in the sun. He wanted me to play cricket and be a gentleman. He saw me playing rugby and never looked at the field when he would walk in… I am the product of a father who would ask what we should wear to a wedding and a mother who asked what I should do with my career. This is exactly opposite.”

His candid reflection underscores how these contrasting influences from his parents forged his unique identity.

Ben Stokes Responds To Michael Vaughan’s Criticism For Choosing Bowling First At Headingley

0

England men’s cricket team captain Ben Stokes ultimately had the final say, triumphing over the significant criticism he received from Michael Vaughan regarding his choice to bowl first in the opening Test against India. Despite many experts predicting a favorable batting surface, Stokes, after winning the toss, opted to field. Vaughan, in particular, was vocal in his disapproval following India’s strong start.

However, Stokes’ decision was definitively vindicated when England orchestrated a remarkable chase of 371 runs, propelled by a sensational century from Ben Duckett. After securing the victory, Stokes delivered the perfect retort to his detractors.

“It’s a good job Test cricket is played over five days. Imagine thinking that way after day one, before we’ve even had chance to bat on a wicket,” Stokes was quoted as saying on BBC’s Test Match Special.

He further elaborated on his reasoning, stating, “You never know what a wicket is going to play like half an hour before any cricket has been on it. It looked like there was a lot of top moisture on it, it felt like there was. You do first what you think will give you the best chance of winning the game.” Stokes also highlighted the historical behavior of the Headingley pitch, adding, “Headingley does generally quite a lot early on. I thought it was a great chance to potentially nick three or four in the first hour. The opposition are allowed to play well.”

Earlier, Vaughan had expressed his displeasure with England’s decision, admitting he was “staggered” by the tactic against India. “I’m a bit of an old-school traditionalist here at Leeds that, when the sun shines, it’s quite an easy decision, particularly with the build-up to the Test match and it being so dry and so nice,” Michael Vaughan had said on the BBC’s Test Match Special. He concluded his criticism by remarking, “I was staggered… when I heard he was going to bowl first. I thought, traditions have gone out the window.”

Well he responded in a great manner!

“Double Standards?” Punjabi Singer Jasbir Jassi Supports Diljit Dosanjh Over Sardar Ji 3 Row

Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi has come forward in support of Diljit Dosanjh, who is currently facing criticism over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming film, Sardaar Ji 3. In a recent interview, Jassi acknowledged public sentiment but also highlighted what he described as “double standards”.

He asserted that numerous Indian songs are either “stolen” or feature vocals by foreign artists. Jassi further contended that if the government intends to impose a comprehensive ban on Pakistani artists, then their music should be entirely removed from all platforms within India.

Jasbir Jassi shared his perspective with a news channel, stating, “I’m seeing how Diljit Dosanjh and his film are facing protests on social media because that film also stars a Pakistani artiste. I respect people’s sentiments that we should love our country and that we should stand by our country. But, why these double standards? If you don’t want any Pakistani artists singing, acting or working in any Indian film, you want to ban them. But 80% of the songs of our industry have been stolen, be it their tunes or words or the entire songs. There are so many songs in our films that have been sung by the artists of that country. I don’t want to take names because the list is too long. So, why these double standards?”

The singer went on to elaborate on his point, arguing, “Either get rid of all those songs from YouTube, Spotify and other digital platforms. But not like this, you take just one artist and start protesting against them. It’s like someone came to your house with something to eat and then you start calling them the enemy but you keep eating the things or sweets they brought along with them. If you want to ban (Pakistani artists), ban them completely. Get all that content available in the world lifted… why are you banning films of one artist at a time?”

What do you have to say now?

R Ashwin Advises Siraj To Learn From Morne Morkel After Dismal Performance In Headlingey Test

0

India’s recent Test defeat to England at Headingley, where they failed to defend a target of 371 runs in the fourth innings, has put a spotlight on the team’s frontline pacers. With the exception of Jasprit Bumrah, the fast bowlers have faced considerable criticism for their inability to take wickets, create pressure, or contain the flow of runs, ultimately contributing to India being “bazballed” into losing the series ope

The statistics paint a clear picture of the struggles. Mohammed Siraj bowled 41 overs across both innings, claiming two wickets while conceding a hefty 173 runs at an economy rate of 4.2 runs per over. Prasidh Krishna, though picking up five wickets in 35 overs, was expensive, leaking 220 runs at an economy of 6.2. In stark contrast, Jasprit Bumrah delivered 43.4 overs, secured five wickets, and maintained an impressive economy rate of just 3.2. This significant difference in performance is a cause for concern.

Former India cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin believes that the lack of support from his fellow pacers is unduly increasing Bumrah’s workload. Ashwin specifically suggested that Siraj needs to step up and control the run rate from his end, even if it means not taking a flurry of wickets.

Ashwin elaborated on his YouTube channel, saying, “Bumrah is bowling extraordinarily. Prasidh, when he gets it right, bowls unbelievably well. Jadeja will perform his role. My only question is to Siraj: ‘Can you just dry up the runs? You don’t have to pick wickets, but can you not give away 4-5 runs in every over?’” He further explained the implications of leaking runs, adding, “If runs are being leaked, then you have to bring Bumrah back into the attack. How many dams will Bumrah be able to construct? Also, he gets tired, and his spells are pushed and by then, partnerships are forged. Or you’d have to go with Jadeja, who has to step in to stem the flow of runs.”

Ashwin drew a parallel to the role played by current India bowling coach Morne Morkel during his playing days for South Africa. Morkel’s disciplined bowling helped maintain pressure and allowed strike bowlers like Dale Steyn and Vernon Philander to thrive.

Emphasizing Siraj’s crucial role, Ashwin stated, “Prasidh is playing for the first time (in England) and is inexperienced. Siraj has to play the bankable role. Remember how Morne Morkel used to bowl? He used to give 43 runs in 20 overs and take 2 wickets. In Bazball era, you might go for 2/58. That is the role Siraj has to play and if he is effective in it, it would make a huge difference.”

Will Siraj listen to Ashwin?

Mika Singh Demands Apology From Diljit Dosanjh & Asked To Cut Hania Aamir Scenes From Movie

In the midst of a brewing controversy surrounding the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3, singer Mika Singh has publicly called upon Diljit Dosanjh to offer an apology. Mika recently expressed his sentiments on Instagram stories, indicating a willingness to forgive Dosanjh should he apologize and remove any “objectionable” scenes from the movie.

Mika Singh conveyed his thoughts directly, stating, “Guys, I understand we all make mistakes in life. But when we do, there’s one simple word that holds power: Sorry. If Diljit made a mistake, we are all willing to forgive. But he must apologise and remove all the objectionable scenes from the movie. That’s it. No hate. Just respect. Desh pehle (Nation first).”

This plea for an apology follows a prior strong condemnation from Mika Singh, who had previously criticized Diljit for collaborating with a Pakistani artist. In an earlier note, Mika Singh had labeled Diljit Dosanjh a “fake singer” and sharply rebuked his actions. He wrote, “Guys, as we all know, the relationship between India and Pakistan isn’t going well right now. Yet some people continue to act irresponsibly. Before releasing any content that involves artists from across the border, they should think twice — especially when our nation’s dignity is involved. There was a film featuring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor that many of us opposed, and yet, some still don’t seem to get the message. What’s more shocking is that a fake singer, after doing 10 shows in India with thousands of fans buying tickets, has now disappeared — leaving fans betrayed and helpless.”

Uttarakhand Issues Alert as River Rafting in Rishikesh Suspended Due to Rising Ganga

0

Visitors and thrill enthusiasts planning a trip to Rishikesh should know that the local government has stopped river rafting. This is because of the inflowing waters of Ganga River. The river level has already reached near critical levels prompting safety concerns and this precaution was taken as a result.

Why the Suspension?

Due to continuous rainfall in the upper Himalayan areas along with water release from upstream dams, authorities noted Ganga’s water level at 338 meters on June 25, 2025 which is dangerously close to the figure of 339 meters . Consequently, Tehri and Rishikesh areas are currently under severe alert.

Giving importance to public safety concerns and their proper maintenance, officials emphasize that during weak visibility conditions and strong swirling currents paired with muddy waters rife with silt present extreme danger for any adventure sports. In case of such an incident occurring, rescue operations would be nearly impossible.

What This Means for Tourists

Rishikesh is considered the white water rafting capital of India. Tourists from all over the world visit Rishikesh for river rafting. Unfortunately, due to current circumstances all rafting service providers have to suspend their services until further notice.

If you are planning on going on a rafting tour any time soon, it may be wise to contact local operators or the Uttarakhand tourism department before making any final arrangements. The authorities will only allow for rafting once water levels are back within safe limits.

Safety First

Though these policies may come off as inconvenience for many adventure seekers, this does limit the possibilities of accidents occurring. Tourists are asked to refrain from walking too close to river banks during peak fluctuating times such as early mornings and evenings.

The restrictions placed on river rafting in Rishikesh due to flood-like conditions of Ganga focuses bolstering caution however still remains ideal in place. As we’ve seen, it’s dramatically more important now brace ourselves for unpredictable weather.
