The Indian cricket team will be facing Pakistan for the second time in the Asia Cup 2023 on 10 September (Sunday) at R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo and fans are quite excited for this match especially after the first one got spoiled due to rain.
Well as per the forecast, rains may play spoilsport on 10 September as well but the good thing is that a reserve day has been kept for this match. Earlier, it was decided in a meeting of ACC that all the matches which were scheduled to be played in Colombo will be shifted to Hambantota as there is rain forecast in Colombo but soon the decision was cancelled and Colombo remained the venue.
The former chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board, Najam Sethi targeted BCCI/Asian Cricket Council and its chairman Jay Shah by asking why the decision got changed and if India is afraid of losing to Pakistan.
Najam Sethi tweeted, “BCCI/ACC informed PCB today that they had decided to shift the next India-Pak match from Colombo to Hambantota because of rain forecasts. Within one hour they changed their mind and announced Colombo as the venue. What’s going on? Is India afraid to play and lose to Pakistan? Look at the rain forecast!”
The former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh responded strongly on Najam Sethi’s statement and this is what he said in an interview, “Don’t know what Najam Sethi is smoking nowadays. I don’t know how is he saying that they were the favourites or India does not want to play Pakistan.”
Bhajji further said, “Please someone give him the whole record where India have beaten them more number of times whenever they have played against each other. This is a baseless kind of a thing for him, with the kind of stature that he holds at this moment for Pakistan cricket. He says, India does not want to play Pakistan because India is scared. India is never scared to play anyone. Don’t know where this is coming from. They needed to sit with the Asian Cricket Council and see where the tournament is going to be held.”
We certainly agree with Harbhajan Singh, do you?
