Wiz Freight secures Rs 275 cr in Tiger Global led funding round

Wiz Freight has secured Rs 275 crore in a funding round. Tiger Global led the Series A round in the supply chain startup.

Wiz Freight, a supply chain startup, has received Rs 275 crore ($36 million) in a Series A round led by Tiger Global and co-led by Axilor, Foundamental, Arali Ventures, Stride Ventures, and Alteria Capital. In August of last year, the Chennai-based business raised $3.5 million in a venture round headed by Axilor.

Wiz Freight wants to grow to 15 countries in Southeast Asia, West Asia, and Africa with the new funds, according to a statement from the business. In addition, the business will hire additional employees and establish two research centres in AI, blockchain, and connected devices in Singapore and Bengaluru.

Wiz Freight, founded in 2020 by Ramkumar Govindarajan and Ramkumar Ramachandran, offers end-to-end shipment management solutions such as price discovery, booking management, shipment tracking, paperwork, shipment finance, and customer support using its unique technology platform.

The company provides ocean, air, and road freight solutions, as well as value-added services such as door-to-door pickup and delivery, customs processing, road logistics, and warehousing.

The company claims to have a workforce of over 350 workers spread over more than 15 sites, as well as a network of over 200 carriers and vendors. Customers include the Tatas, Adani group, Mahindra, Aditya Birla, Renew Power, Hero Motors, ITC, and Marico, among others.
