WTC Final: Team India gears up for ‘Mission Oval’, BCCI shares special drill video

Beginning on June 7, the Indian team will face off against the Australian team at the Oval in London for the last match of the WTC 2021-23. The BCCI has shared a video of the special drill.

Starting on June 7 at the Kennington Oval in London, the Indian cricket team will face off against Australia in the decisive match of the World Test Championship (WTC). In preparation for this monumental match, the management and coaching staff of the Indian team, as well as some of the players that make up India’s 15-person roster, have traveled to London.

During the first training session for the team, Rahul Dravid, the team’s head coach, and Vikram Rathour, the team’s batting coach, were there. Players like as Akshar Patel, Shardul Thakur, and Umesh Yadav were also present. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also published on Friday a video of a unique practice session in which Indian players could be seen working on their catching.

The players on the Indian team can be seen practicing a unique catching technique in the video that was provided by the BCCI. This technique involves forming a circle with the staff while catching the ball. The film was distributed with the commentary that the activity was a humorous warm-up. It was revealed that Umesh Yadav, Akshar Patel, and Shardul Thakur were involved in this.

Earlier on Thursday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a few photographs on its official Twitter handle. In the photographs, members of the Indian cricket team and their coaches can be seen wearing the new training uniform. A new sponsor for the team’s uniforms was only announced not too long ago. As a result of this, the shirt that everyone wears during games is different than the one they wear during training. The Oval will serve as the venue for the examination.

At the Oval, Team India will make history by being the first team to compete against a team other than England. There have been a total of 14 Test matches played here by the Indian team before this one. In the final of the most recent World Test Championship, which took place in Southampton, Team India was beaten by New Zealand. This time, the Indian team will need to overcome the obstacle posed by the Kangaroos.

In the most recent Border Gavaskar Trophy match, the Indian team prevailed over the Kangaroo team to claim victory. After that, there is an opportunity to mend the wounds caused by the earlier loss, and it will take place this time in front of Team India at Oval. If this Indian team, captained by Rohit Sharma, is victorious, India would be able to claim an additional ICC title.

15-man  team: Rohit Sharma (captain); KS Bharat (wicketkeeper); Shubman Gill; Virat Kohli; Cheteshwar Pujara; Ajinkya Rahane; Ishan Kishan; Ravichandran Ashwin; Ravindra Jadeja;, Akshar Patel; Shardul Thakur; Mohammed Shami; Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat.
