Virat Kohli sets ICC rankings on fire; Ashwin emerges as new uncontested ruler

The ICC has revealed the new rankings following the India-Australia Test series. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have benefited greatly from this.

The India-Australia Test series is concluded. Team India won the first two matches, but thereafter went winless. The Australian side won the third match after a comeback, while the final match resulted in a tie.

The unique aspect of this series is that Virat Kohli scored a century in a test after nearly three years. He was removed for 186 runs, yet despite this, he has risen dramatically in the ICC rankings. His rating has increased to 705 and he is currently ranked 13th.

India has just two batters in the top ten Test batting rankings, with Rishabh Pant remaining at number nine and Rohit Sharma rising to number ten.

According to the ICC Test rankings, Marnus Labuschagne is the best Test batsman, with Steve Smith coming in second.

Rishabh Pant has dropped one spot to ninth, while Rohit Sharma has risen one spot.

Rohit Sharma blasted a 120-run inning in the opening game of the series, but he hasn’t hit another such monster inning since.

In the ICC Test rankings, batters have an average rating of 915, while bowlers have an average rating of 869.

Ravichandran Ashwin has significantly strengthened his lead over James Anderson, while Ravindra Jadeja has firmly established himself as the number one all-rounder in the ratings.
