Alert: Your PAN card will be useless if you don’t do this till 31st March

In today’s time, PAN card has become an important document to tell the condition of your financial health. Your complete data remains with the Income Tax Department only through the number registered on it. This is the reason why the Income Tax Department is alerting card holders to link PAN with Aadhaar.

If you have a PAN card and do not want to get into any trouble in the future, then read this news carefully. If ignored, your PAN can be deactivated. The Income Tax Department has alerted the card holders by tweeting. The department has told through Twitter that by March 31, 2023, link your PAN card with Aadhaar (Pan-Aadhaar Link). In case this does not happen, the card will be deactivated from 1st April.

The Income Tax Department has informed the PAN card holders about this in a tweet on Tuesday, January 17, through the official Twitter handle of the department. It states, ‘As per the Income Tax Act, 1961, it is mandatory for all PAN card holders (who do not fall in the exempted category) to link their PAN with Aadhaar before March 31, 2023. Unlinked PAN will be inactive from 1 April 2023. In its tweet, the department wrote, ‘Urgent Notice. Don’t delay, link it today!

Taking this message of the Income Tax Department lightly may prove to be difficult for you. The reason for this is that in today’s time, PAN card has become an important document, which remains connected to each of your financial cards. The Income Tax Department records the complete financial data of the cardholders through the number registered on this card. In such a situation, it is necessary to take this alert seriously, otherwise you may get into trouble further.

If the PAN card is useless then this problem

If you did not link your PAN with Aadhaar till March 31, 2023 (Pan-Aadhaar Link Last Date) and it became deactivated from April 1, 2023. Then in such a situation neither you will be able to file your income tax return. The problem will not end here, because if the PAN card is invalid, you will not be able to open a mutual fund, stock, bank account, where it is mandatory to show the PAN card.

You can do this work even from home:

Use your home PC to visit the Income Tax Department’s portal incometax.gov.in/  and link your PAN card with Aadhaar. Do your registration here. For this, your PAN number will have to be used as user ID. A new page will open after login with your User ID, Password and Date of Birth. Here the option of Link Aadhaar will appear. On clicking this, you will be asked for Aadhaar and PAN card information. Enter the requested information and complete the process. Apart from this, you can easily do this work by using the SMS facility.
